Approach to Treatment
I have a cognitive-behavior style to my therapy, thus my focus is in
changing negative thinking patterns and negative behavioral patterns. I will give you concrete suggestions to
try in between therapy sessions and I am able to teach specific stress management and relaxation skills. I
believe that people benefit more from counseling if they actively participate in setting goals and implementing
specific changes in between sessions. I also utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy with individuals who have
experienced trauma. I will coordinate with any professionals you or your adolescent are working with including
your adolescent’s school support system, your primary care physician, pediatrician, or psychiatrist.
