I have over 24 years of experience working with adolescents and adults who have experienced depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. I have a special expertise in doing counseling with individuals who have OCD using ERP as my main technique and with individuals with BFRBs using the ComB model as my main technique. I do a lot of counseling with individuals who have PTSD due to child abuse, sexual assault, and war trauma experiences. Other areas of expertise are dealing with grief issues and adoption issues including working with adoptees or birth-parents, or doing reunification counseling. I also enjoy working with couples and families to help them settle conflicts.
I provide diagnostic assessments and treatment planning for adolescents and adults. I provide individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy (with the adolescents I work with and their parents).
I received my Ph.D. in Psychology from Iowa State University in 1986. My bachelor’s degree was completed at Gustavus Adolphus College in 1981 and I received my master’s degree from ISU in 1983. My first position was at Parkside Lutheran Hospital in Park Ridge, IL where I worked with patients who were chemically dependent and had eating disorders, other mental illnesses, or cognitive impairments. I returned to Minnesota and have been working in outpatient settings as a Licensed Psychologist with adolescents and adults for over 24 years. I have worked in mental health clinics, a medical clinic, and am now in private practice.
I am a part of the American Psychological Association and the Minnesota Psychological Association.
